Training
KEI provides training in various aspects of Engineering and in Asset Management.
Gaining Efficiency:
Challenges Overcome
Agencies have limited budgets. Training, through the adoption of best practices and methods, helps agencies more efficiently achieve their agency goals. Training needs to be done efficiently and well, by experienced instructors.
Delaware
KEI served as the exclusive technical consultant to the federally-mandated Delaware Technology Transfer (T2) Center for 17 years. As part of that support, KEI has implemented a variety of Pavement and Asset Management systems for more than 30 municipal agencies. In addition, KEI has held workshops prior to implementing the systems to educate the decision makers and general public as to why system preservation, short-term and long-term planning and understanding the long-term consequences of today’s funding decisions are critical to maximizing taxpayer investments.
New Hampshire
As part of a public-private partnership, KEI worked with the New Hampshire T2 Center, as the technical expert, to develop software based infrastructure management systems including Road Surface Management System (RSMS), Sign Inventory Management System (SIMS), Maintenance Equipment Management System (MEMS) and Drainage Management System (DRAINMS). In addition to the collection of pavements assets, these asset management modules were developed to collect asset data related to drainage, guardrail, lighting, safety improvements, sidewalks and traffic signs. Work included development of the management system including condition evaluation methods, decision models, performance models, analysis methodology and reporting schemes.
Other State Support
Additionally, KEI has assisted other state T2 Centers, including Maryland, with implementing Pavement Management Systems.
