KEI City Support

For almost a decade, KEI has served as the City’s Engineer providing a broad range of support to the City’s Public Works Department. KEI has successfully designed a variety of infrastructure projects. These included for pavement resurfacing, replacement of curbs and sidewalks, stormwater management/drainage improvements, rehabilitation of recreation facilities, relocation/replacement of water supply lines and sewer collection lines, and traffic calming measures.  KEI has provided a full range of engineering services including for: field surveying, grading and drainage design, pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction design, utility relocation plans, preparation of contract documents, construction inspection and contract administration. Other responsibilities for the City include review of land development plans, technical assistance on structural and construction methods and public meeting support to assure that elected officials and citizens are presented with clear objective analysis.

Projects

Rehoboth Beach City Engineer

KEI has successfully delivered the following on schedule and on budget:

• Building and Licensing Facility - Provided the site design for the facility which included grading, drainage, parking lot and sidewalk layout and an underground stormwater management infiltration facility.
• Lake Gerar Bridge Replacement - Completed the final design and construction oversight for the federally-funded bridge replacement project. The Lake Gerar project included the design of a new bridge, retaining walls, foundations, horizontal and vertical realignment of two streets, new pedestrian walkways, drainage improvements, the relocation of utilities and the addition of traffic calming features.  KEI worked with various state and federal agencies to obtain all necessary approvals and permits.

• Pavement Management System - KEI implemented a Pavement Management System, generated long-term budgets and made a public presentation.
• Boardwalk Reconstruction - Oversaw the completion of the boardwalk reconstruction project.  KEI created the shovel-ready documents from surveying through final contract documents in less than 45 days.
